Description
The Lead Telecommunications Analyst (Assistant Manager) plans and implements communication systems for voice, video and data telecommunications network equipment, circuit and system to meet business and customer requirements.
- Coordinates the infrastructure projects for WAN, voice and HDVC (High Definition Video Conferencing) systems
- Provides mobile phone policy and interact with vendors
- Performs capacity & resources planning and contingency planning to manage the risks of network failure and to ensure appropriate service levels are maintained
- Provides support for the telecommunications infrastructure. Collaborates with Corporate network team and circuit provider to investigate and provides resolution for network problems
- Evaluates new technology and provide proof-of-concept testing. Develops deployment plans once the new technology has been determined to benefit to business and has been approved by IT
- Maintains and increases a broad range of knowledge and skills in telecommunications systems to provide training to team members
- Collaborates with stakeholders to establish project to plan, schedule, and monitor work to meet time and quality targets in accordance with legislation and UPS procedures
- The Lead Telecommunications Analyst reports to the APAC IT Telecommunications Manager
MAIN DUTIES
Implements Complex Change Management Solutions
- Coordinate and communicate with various department for circuit implementation
- Provides input to identify and resolve complex problems and to determine when issues should be escalated to management
Evaluates Emerging Technologies
- Follows the industry to gain knowledge and understanding of current and emerging technologies
- Identifies new and emerging network technologies to produce innovative solutions and products, improve performance, and reduce costs
Contributes to the Development of Budgets
- Participates in budget planning to ensure funding is available
- Provides cost estimates for project implementations to support effective planning
Interacts with Vendors
- Interacts with vendors to research new products and services and to review service level agreements (SLAs) on existing services
- Develops technical RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs to meet UPS business objectives
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Information Technology / Computer Science or any relevant field of discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience performing in a similar capacity with extensive knowledge of voice, data and wireless telecommunications systems and HDVC systems.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with successful people management experience.
- Certification in CCIE / CCNA / CCNP / ITIL
- Prior experience with projects involving technology from Cisco / HP / AVAYA / Checkpoint products
- Experience in vendor managed IT service model.
- ITIL knowledge and experience in Incident and Problem management
- Knowledge of different network protocols
Desirable
- Experience in evaluating network architectures
- Experience of leading and implementing IT projects / PMP certification
- Experience of working in a Logistic environment
- Knowledge of DNS / routing / Load balancer / Proxies
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and IT security concepts
- Knowledge and experience in Incident and Problem management
